Visions of Western Australia
Austraflora 2017 Calendar Cover
Shelley Cove near Bunker Bay in WA's amazing South West coast. I love this part of WA. I was fortunate enough for this image to win the Austraflora 2017 Calendar photography competition with this image gracing the cover and some pretty cool prizes!
Wave Rock, Hyden WA gets it's name by the obvious wave like form of the rock face.
A Different View
Twilight Beach in Esperance, a truly beautiful place. This is a different view but really, any view of Twilight Beach is hard to beat.
Quininup Falls lies between Yallingup and Margaret River. Nestled between sand dunes and only a few 100 metres from the beach, it is an unexpected oasis.
Sunrise at Salter Point, Manning
Evening at Sugarloaf Rock
You never forget evenings such as this!
Mother Nature working her magic in the hills of Perth.
There is something magical about watching the first rays of the sun break the horizon then watching the beginning of a new day. Point Heathcoat is situated in Applecross and looks out onto Melville Waters and at this time of day.....simply stunning!
Smith's Beach SW
Sunset at the very popular Smith's Beach just south of Yallingup.
A chilly and misty morning at a local wetland area.
A Bugs View...
South West Sky Show
Mother Nature really put on a show this evening on the South West coast of WA. Amazing experience!
First Light at Bunker Bay
I love the trees that dot the coastline surrounding Bunker Bay. They look awesome silhouetted against the morning sky.
Sunrise on a winters morning over the Canning River, Perth.
The South West of western Australia has some simply stunning landscapes.
Situated in the Beedelup National Park is this wilderness oasis. Absolutely stunning location.
The stunning coastline surrounding the Southwest town of Denmark is a simply amazing part of Western Australia. I left Denmark at 3am to capture this sunrise. Kangaroos everywhere and pitch black on the roads made for slow going. Arriving at the beach car park at 4am only to discover I had left my torch back at the motel! This made the 30 minute hike along this rugged coast somewhat challenging. There was an Osprey perched on the cliffs behind me and a pod of dolphins surfing the waves just off the reef and this sunrise..... it was certainly worth it.
First light at Salter Point......
Lake Magic, Hyden
Sunrise at this aptly named "Lake Magic" situated in Hyden, 335 kms east of Perth.
The Waters Below
It was quite a climb down into the gorge to get to this particular spot but it was definitely worth it! Kalbarri National Park.
The gorges and formations carved by the Murchison River, Kalbarri are simply stunning.
What a spectacular view from this gorge in the Kalbarri National Park.
Sunset over Esperance farmlands. Mother Nature really put on a light show this particular evening!
The Pinnacles in Nambung National Park. Incredible sight and dusk or dawn can be quite eerie.
Mother Nature at her best!
Another of Western Australia's iconic landscapes, the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park.
Morning mist over the Baldivis Wetlands at sunrise.
On the Farm
I shot this image on a friends farm just outside of Esperance. A favourite spot for Tiger Snakes so this was as close as I was going to get!
Cape Peron, (otherwise known as Point Peron) Rockingham is noted for its protected beaches, limestone cliffs, reefs and panoramic views. It is also home to an abundance of bird and marine life.
Below the Cliffs
Another shot taken at the base of the gorge alongside the Murchison River. Beautiful place.
Shot at sunrise in the small coastal town of Hopetoun, Western Australia.
